Roger Clemens Affair

Here we go again, another saga in the Roger Clemens soap opera. If you haven’t yet heard about the Roger Clemens affair, here’s the dirt. According to the NY Daily News, country singer Mindy McCready has confirmed that she had a 10 year long affair with The Rocket. Although to nobody’s surprise Roger “flatly denies” having a sexual relationship with McCready. Mindy McCready told the Daily News “I cannot refute anything in the story”, in regards to the affair. She went on to say “He’s a kind and caring man. He’s also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life.”There are legal matters working their way through the system that have nothing to do with me. From my point of view, that is where the focus should remain.”

We aren’t here to judge Roger Clemens, frankly we don’t care who he sleeps with. What concerns us is the quality of people he sleeps with. Seriously, have you seen this trash? She was incarcerated in 2004 for illegally obtaining prescription pain killers, then arrested again in July of 2007 apparently for fighting with her mother. Later she accused one of the police officers of brutality and claimed that she was maced and starved in jail. Uh….ok.

We know Roger Clemens is a Texan, and we know Texans are a rough & tumble crowd. But Roger, you’re The Rocket for god’s sake! She’s a bad piece of beef jerky on a plate full of filet mignon. She’s the cow that becomes the family pet because the rancher takes pity on her. You on the other hand are a baseball legend, multiple Cy Young award winner, perennial all-star, all american hero! Well, you were anyway.

Come to think of it, you’re also a steroid abuser (no we don’t believe you), you’re also a liar (grand jury, wife, America), and a cheater (wife, baseball). Huh, maybe we were wrong. Maybe you and this drug abusing, has-been country singing chick are perfect for each other. Maybe you should’ve let go of your wife (and baseball) a long time ago. Think about all the trouble you would’ve saved yourself.

The only reason Roger Clemens is still in the news is because he wanted to have a grand jury hearing where he could claim the world was against him. Now he’s being investigated by the FBI for lying at his own hearing! That’s called perjury Roger, now you’re in more trouble than ever! This story about his affair is a result of the ongoing investigation by the FBI into his personal life, Jose Canseco, and whatever else the FBI can dig up. The Rocket can only blame himself for this whole mess. Hey Roger, take a note from Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, and all the other guys - shut your mouth! Yeah, everyone else lied about it too, but did they ask for hearings? No. They just lied when they were asked about it and then they shut the hell up. That’s really all we want you to do.

Please Roger, don’t even bother to lie about it, just shut the hell up.
